A few questions... What is MaxBytes set to? What is the actual value? What is the different in a five minute poll? Are you using 32 or 64 bit counters?
It probably doesn't have to do with the 32 vs. 64 bit polling. I would bet the delta is larger than your maxbytes value. Paul >>> "Britt Tabor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 8/6/2004 3:38:27 PM >>> I have posted a couple of Qs for tis issue but still researching and have not found an answer. I have been looking at the log files and this is what Im seeing. If log file are updating (I see this with the mrtg -logging option I see the rateup command execute) but what happens is the file is just overwritten. Below is a head of the .log and .old file [EMAIL PROTECTED] routers]$ head rey1-a100_21.old --> 1091819968 2023150802 1196177688 1091819968 0 0 0 0 1091819667 0 0 0 0 1091819400 0 0 0 0 1091819100 0 0 0 0 1091818800 0 0 0 0 1091818500 0 0 0 0 1091818200 0 0 0 0 1091817900 0 0 0 0 1091817600 0 0 0 0 [EMAIL PROTECTED] routers]$ head rey1-a100_21.log 1091820266 2069929014 1201335036 1091820266 0 0 0 0 --> 1091819968 0 0 0 0 1091819700 0 0 0 0 1091819400 0 0 0 0 1091819100 0 0 0 0 1091818800 0 0 0 0 1091818500 0 0 0 0 1091818200 0 0 0 0 1091817900 0 0 0 0 as you can see the .old file has a value for the 1091819968 time stamp but in the .log file this timestamp has been reset to 0 0 0 0 and Im pulling my hair out. I see no errors it just doesn't want to work. this is the section from the mrtg --logging log file for the entry above 2004-08-06 15:19:29 -- --log: Called /usr/bin/rateup /var/www/mrtg/routers/ rey1-a100_21 1091819968 -z g 2023150802 1196177688 128000 c #00cc00 #0000ff #006600 #ff00ff -t -b -d Z GMT+4 k 1000 i /var/www/mrtg/routers/rey1-a100_21-day.png 128000 128000 400 100 1 1 0 300 0 4 1 I have no idea what all of it means and cant find anything online. So I don't know if one of the params is telling it to overwrite or not. Can ANYONE throw me a bone here, PLEASE... Britt Tabor I.T.
