You should probably use a cfgmaker template that will use the alias if
available, else the description, and so on - as some of your aliases are blank
you'll need alternatives. I've submitted a patch for cfgmaker to Tobi that
allows you to specify multiple things in the -ifdesc and -ifref in order of
preference, which should help, but until this goes live you'll need to do it
with a cfgmaker template. Take a look at some of the ones in the library at

Brian,

Below is the ifAlias section of the MIB:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] mrtg]# snmpwalk -c ubaVcj8PYF -v 2c fsigt-001-eqla3.stk
ifAlias
IF-MIB::ifAlias.65 = STRING:
IF-MIB::ifAlias.66 = STRING:
IF-MIB::ifAlias.193 = STRING: fstgt-002-eqla3-ethe4/1
IF-MIB::ifAlias.194 = STRING: fstgt-002-eqla3-ethe4/2

I have tried '--ifdesc alias' and I get the same output. Any thoughts?

-Patrick
