Hi I tried running cfgmaker with the --ifdesc=name --ifref=name switches and with the nortel template file altered to include both oids in the oid_pick but the config file output for the ports was still commented
The MIBs for the GbE2c are available here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang= en&cc=us&prodNameId=3352726&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=3352717&swLa ng=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=181 under Management Utilities for Windows. Using the MIBs available in the above link - how can we check if $ifindex is the correct OID suffix or not. rgds Derek Hazell | System Administrator <http://www.aap.com.au/> Australian Associated Press L5 3 Rider Boulevard Rhodes Waterside, Rhodes, NSW, 2138 T +61 0293228910 | F +61 0293228086 | E [email protected] ________________________________ From: Mersberger, Robert [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, 18 February 2009 9:49 AM To: 'Steve Shipway'; Hazell Derek; [email protected] Subject: RE: [mrtg] FW: MIB query (re HP/Nortel Blade switches )... Maybe you can help with this? I have save the template as nortel_gbe2.tp And tried to run it with cfgmaker but get and error. I have only used one template before so am not sure of what I am doing except for trial and error. I don't have much time to spend on this specific task. Here is what I have and what I am getting [r...@mrtg mrtg]# /usr/bin/cfgmaker --if-template=nortel_gbe2.tp --global 'WorkDir: /usr/local/rrd_data' --global 'LogFormat: rrdtool' --global 'routers.cgi*Options[_]: scaled' --global 'Options[_]: bits, growright' --ifdesc=alias --snmp-options=:::::2 --output /etc/mrtg/blswr7e5at.cfg [email protected] Evaluation of the contents in the file nortel_gbe2.tp gave the error "Undefined subroutine &SNMPv1_Session::getaddrinfo called at /usr/bin/../lib64/mrtg2/SNMP_Session.pm line 650, <IF_TEMPLATE> line 23. " Exiting cfgmaker Thanks for your help, maybe working together we can get this to work. ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Steve Shipway Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 2:54 PM To: '[email protected]'; '[email protected]' Subject: Re: [mrtg] FW: MIB query (re HP/Nortel Blade switches )... Might be able to use both OIDs in the oid_pick in case either works: my($hpoid) = oid_pick($router_connect,$v3opt,"1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.33.4.2.1.1.2.2. 1.15.$ifindex", "1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.33.1.2.1.1.2.2.1.15.$ifindex"); Its possible as well that the HP MIB doesn't use $ifindex as the suffix but some other index of their own, which would be a nuisance. As someone else suggested, using --ifref=name --ifdesc=name as options is also a good idea; my rough script just grabbed the default identifier to use if it can't find an HP one. Try changing the OID in the template to .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.33.1.2.1.1.2.2.1.15.$ifindex. sample of output. I have the same switched and when I do an snmpwalk to this oid I get the following. [r...@mrtg ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c -c da1sy blswr7e5a .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.11.33.1.2.1.1.2.2.1.15 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11.2.3.7.11.33.1.2.1.1.2.2.1.15.1 = STRING: "Blade Server 751" SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11.2.3.7.11.33.1.2.1.1.2.2.1.15.2 = STRING: "Downlink2" Hope this helps. I have not looked at the template yet but will look as it as time permits. Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail.
