Editing the field in the subform should trigger the update in the associated
table but that doesn't happen. There are no calculations at this point.

What triggers this update? An event on the outer form? Something the user
does on the subform? Are you trying to calculate something?

Subject: [ms_access] using a subform for data editing

I'm having a problem trying to update a subform field with new data
that will directly update the underlying table. The form shows the
updated field but how do I get it to make the change in the table? I
have attempted to use the "on change" and "after update" to no avail.
Can I do this with a macro? I'm too rusty with VBA...
 Thanks,
 Doreen
