Andre-

It sounds like you need two tables - tblChildren and tblTimeLog. You can
model tblChildren after the Employees table in Northwind. You can even
steal the Employees form that has code to handle the pictures. Change
EmployeeID to ChildID.

tblTimeLog might look like:
ChildID Number, Long Integer, first field in Primary Key
TimeIn Date/Time, second field in Primary Key, Default Value =Now()
TimeOut Date/Time

Add a subform to edit tblTimeLog, linked on ChildID. You can cause the form
to filter for the last record only by using a query something like:

SELECT tblTimeLog.*
FROM tblTimeLog
WHERE tblTimeLog.TimeOut IS NULL

That should display either a blank new row in the subform or the last record
for the current child that has no check out time yet.

Subject: [ms_access] I need help with a Access Database

Hi to all users.
I want to write a database to help access control at Sunday School.
Here is how it should work:
Every child has a ID Card with a ID number on it. The parent will
show this card and when this number is entered, the PC should bring up
the child's record (Name, photo, address etc), and in a column below
all this, Automatically enter the time and date. Then, when the child
leaves, by typing the number in the "Time Out" field, it should log
the time, and save the record. The next Sunday, the same will happen,
but the same record should show up, with a second Date / Time stamp.
I also want reporting capabillities on this.

I would really appreciate some help. I am using Access 2002, but
although I have been using Word and Excell for years, I am new at Access.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Andre
