Mike-
Perhaps use the DCount function to do the test in the Timer event:
If 0 < DCount("*", "tblWorkOrders", "Status=0") Then
' pop open the form
DoCmd.OpenForm "fpopNewWorkOrders"
End If
The form should be based on a query that filters for Status = 0.

Hi John,
The query will look for "Status=0" in my "WorkOrders" table.

Mike-
How do you plan to determine a Work Order is new?

Hi All,
I am currently in the throws of setting up a "Work Order" database for my
company. What I need to accomplish is have a query run every so often that
looks for "New" work orders (this I can handle, using the OnTimer event),
the next step would then be to have a form "pop up" indicating that there
are new work orders entered since the last time the query was run (this is
where I'm having difficulty). I only want the form to pop up if there are
new work orders when the query is run. If there are no new workorders, then
I don't want the form to pop up. Can someone get me started on how to go
about accomplishing this task?
As usual, thanks for any help/advice in advance :)
