Hi Liveson, Thanks for the hint. I had already tried that, but with no joy. However, I did get the query to work ... It was something soooooo simple... like duuuuhhhhh... In the underlying table structure, the Date Field had been set with a text property. So, of course, access couldn't do anything with dates since it saw them as text! So, problem solved Thanks anyway Best regards Susan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Liveson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 3:08 PM Subject: Re: [ms_access] Create a query/quarterly/summarize
Susan I'm not sure of the structure of your database. However, if the table contains VAT code, amount paid and date you can simply use the report to group the payments quarterly. In the report's underlying query you'd filter the records that match VAT only. You may have to do the grouping in the report and not in the query. A clearer explanation of your problem may lead the group members in the right direction to assist you better. I did this for the sales database, I thought by simply using the query wizard (I am NOT an Access whiz..!) but I cannot make it work with the Purchases database. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thanks Brgds Susan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo!
