I am also new to Access but I think I understand what you are saying.
What I would do if I were you would be to not combined the tables at 
all I would only keep the customer info in one table then only the 
product info in the second table.

I had this similar situation when I started dabling with access 
before I truly started to understand it.

What you have done is put one to many fields in the product table 
you don't need the custName.

I am trying to recreate what you are explaining in your msgs. In a 
new database here now.

If you would like to take a look at the sample database I have
