You mean open a *file* from your hard disk which is linked to a specific record? I mean, let say record#1 has a supporting MsExcel or MsWord documents then at a click of a button the selected file will open?
If so, let me know otherwise Im sorry I didn't get you. How do I tell Access in the form design that when a certain button is pressed it should open the specific document to which the form [the document for which the record is being created] is referring. The form is actually being filled in with reference to the specific document but the document may have to be called up when viewing the form. An example: Say the Supreme Court has handed down a decision relative to a specific issue, say defamation, for example, and the form is citing a specific section of that decision in a memo field. A field, "citation", for example, gives the bibliographical reference. When "citation" or a button called "Full Text" is clicked, the actual MS Word, NotePad, PowerPoint, Access, PDF document is to be called up and displayed. Thanks very much, Harold Yahoo!
