Hi Nicolai, If I understand correctly, you refer to tablature input. What you describe is already implemented in the forthcoming next version 2.0. Look for instance at this page of the handbook: http://musescore.org/en/node/7845 <http://musescore.org/en/node/7845> (scroll down to the "Inputting notes" section). More improvements are on the way.
Nightly releases of the next version are available here: http://musescore.org/en/download <http://musescore.org/en/download> (scroll down the "Nightly versions" section). Please remember that it is a version still under heavy development, not very stable yet and not suitable for 'serious' work, but useful for tests and experiments (and bug detection!)
