I would hope that the only difference were in presentation -- UI verses
text/xml. Thank you for that clarification as well.

However, the cmake process in QtCreator yields a new folder called
qtcreator-build that is different from my MuseScore folder. A simple
listing of directories yields the following:

Musescore:
admin bww2mxml fonts midi README.md
aeolus CMakeLists.txt libmscore miditools share
all.h CMakeLists.txt.user LICENSE.GPL mscore synthesizer
audiofile Compatibility Makefile mstyle test
awl demos Makefile.mingw mtest thirdparty
build effects Makefile.osx omr zerberus
build.release fluid manual README

qtcreator-build:
aeolus cmake_install.cmake libmscore mstyle
all.h config.h Makefile mtest
all.h.gch CPackConfig.cmake manual share
audiofile CPackSourceConfig.cmake midi synthesizer
awl Doxyfile miditools thirdparty
bww2mxml Doxyfile-LibMscore mscore zerberus
CMakeCache.txt effects mscore1.cbp
CMakeFiles fluid mscore.cbp

Also, the folder qtcreator-build strangely seems to respond to "git status".

How should I proceed? If I start making changes via qtcreator-build, how
should I get them back into my main MuseScore directory? Is there a bigger
picture I'm missing.
