Welcome! There are only a few people developing MuseScore and very few on Mac. I'm one of them but I rarely edit UI files and Mac is not my primary platform... When I have to edit UI files, I do it in a text editor or in Qt Creator. AFAIK Qt Creator is the only way to edit UI files graphically. Qt Creator should work well for development as well. I use it on Windows for most of my development work.
Is there any specific thing you want to work on ?
