Hi Ruchit, Regarding your idea, there is something similar done at http://www.peachnote.com/. It's not integrated with MuseScore but Peachnotes has a more or less precise database of notes/intervals used in public domain works. Querying this database, or a similar one could be used for similarity detection and sound alike motif generation. For similarity, see http://www.peachnote.com/similarity It's an interesting topic. If you want to pursue, I think it would be better to retrict the use case to similarity detection.
Nothing has been done on NaCL. As you may know, MuseScore is built on Qt5 and so we depend on Qt5 being available on NaCl. The last statement about Qt5 for NaCl I could find is http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2011-December/001007.html and AFAIK, nothing happened since. So porting MuseScore to NaCl would mean to solve this issue first and I'm not sure it's doable during the GSoC period. You might want to talk with the author of this post before making a proposal. In my opinion, a virtual singer should be available in English first and then support for other languages. Thank you for the offer. That's being said, the virtual singer idea needs some research to find what really need to be investigated and coded. Hope it helps. You can find me on #musescore on freenode.net if you want to chat. lasconic 2014-03-01 12:02 GMT+01:00 Ruchit Agrawal <[email protected]>: > Hello all, > I am Ruchit Agrawal from India. > I am a musician (Guitar, piano, flute, vocals) and a final year computer > science student at IIIT Hyderabad. > I am interested in the projects with MuseScore for GSOC 2014. > > I know the Ideas list is tentative and we can propose our own project, and I > was wondering if there has been any work done on using similarity detection > measures (by keeping a database) , where one composer can come to know if a > particular part of a score matches one by another composer, or is very > similar to that.
