LTS means Long Term Support.
I hope you get better luck with Qt 5.9. They do quite frequent release so
it's hard to have our dev handbook really up to date. Feel free to update
it (3 dots menu, top left > edit). FWIW, our continuous integration builds
every commit on windows in release mode with Qt 5.9 without problem. I
build from time to time locally debug and release version on windows but
only on the command line. Other developers might have more info.
