There might be slight discrepancies between intel and AMD processors - this might also cause problems. But a good deal of my problems might also stem from the fact that the programs I was working at used a special setup. They do "clone" themselves to start a "watch" thread running in parallel to keep the "working" thread active, as I had experienced gradual slowing down and even stopping of background activities without such a measure. Debugging these was a little difficult all the times, but with my old machine, I never saw a slowdown of the _IDE_, neither "GDB timeout" messages or even spurious execeptions without recognizable cause. At most, a program, when run might have not exited cleanly, so it had to be terminated by the "application reset" function. I'll have to observe that some more, but time's going scare for that again already... -- (Weitergabe von Adressdaten, Telefonnummern u.ä. ohne Zustimmung nicht gestattet, ebenso Zusendung von Werbung oder ähnlichem) ----------------------------------------------------------- Mit freundlichen Grüßen, S.
