Hallo Fred, here's a note pertaining to my attempts to find a "general" method to provide a means for localization of msegui applications.
As I stated before, I was on the search to find a starting point to collect all items to be translated, and by now, it seems I found a promising candidate. During his extension of fpc's class system, Martin created the unit "mclasses" and therein implemented the "tmsecomponent" type. This class features a method "getchildren" to scan the list of contained objects and retrieve them for processing. UNfortunately, this method resides within a "protected" section, precluding any descendants from accessing it directly, which would be neccessary to hand them all to a common translation function. Perhaps this can be circumvented, but I've no clue yet how this could be done. I'll have to do some more research, taking its time.
