Dear Albert, You can use 2 ways to create the database:
* Using the normal SCOM setup wizard * Using dbcreatewizard Kevin wrote a blog about both possibilities: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2008/05/03/dbcreatewizard-or-just-run-good-old-setupom-exe-which-should-i-use-to-install-the-database-component-of-opsmgr.aspx Whenever I'm with a customer where the SQL team asks to configure the database in front, I tend to propose to use the dbcreatewizard method. It is a low impact wizard that executes rather fast. It only creates the database with some security settings, tables and basic information in it. You can easily create a procedure in a dev environment that can be executed by another team (e.g. the SQL team) in other environments. My SQL team wants to configure somethings up front for the database architecture, but it seems the setup process only wants to allow the creation of a new DB from the setup wizard. Thanks Al
