We have installed a SCOM 2016 test environment with 1 management server and 1 SQL 2014 server. These are installed on Windows server 2012R2.
I am trying to record a browsing session, but am unsuccessful so far. My workstation is Windows 7 SP1 (Enterprise) with Internet Explorer 11. When IE opens, I can view the explorer bar-web recorder. The web recorder opens, but is blank (with the exception of an x in the upper right corner). I have followed the steps outlined here: http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.com/2014/04/om12-r2-web-recorder-ie11-how-to-get.html https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/visualstudioalm/2013/09/16/using-internet-explorer-11-and-not-able-to-record-a-web-performance-test-successfully/ http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.nl/2012/01/scom-2012-recording-web-browser-session.html https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1d89486d-76dc-4f39-aa18-55cd839403d0/cant-record-web-session-in-web-application-transaction-monitoring-using-ie10-tried-under-windows?forum=operationsmanagergeneral None of these have made any difference. So, I imaged a test machine with Windows 7 (enterprise) and IE8. I get the same results - web recorder pane is blank. I moved the test machine to an OU in our active directory structure where it would not get any group policy settings and that still did not make any difference. Has anyone been successful in getting the web recorder to work in SCOM 2016? If so, can you provide any insights as to what I am missing? What version of IE are compatible with SCOM 2016 and the web recorder?
