The problem with these controllers is they love being RAID cards. Hence 
the "start testing" approach - which can be flashed to itmpt mode without 
the RAID and actually work with larger drives. Not much fun running 
Solaris and skipping ZFS for a RAID controller; save that for the 
penguins!
