the old JTAG interfaces have a connection on Xout. it was used by the
JTAG for old silicon, but you can cut that connection for all current
chips.
Hi chris, I'm sorry I don't get the point totally. For a f149 I can just
cut the connection between jtag (pin6) and xout(msp pin9), it works without?
yes
TMS TCK TDI TDO and GND are a must, it's also good to have RST
connected, and on boards with weak supply, i buffer VCC trough a
schottky diode from the JTAG.
[TCLK was connected on xout of the old MSP430s but newer ones (all the
1xx, 4xx i have seen) also accept that signal on TDI (in certain states
of the JTAG controller)]
They don't say this in the appnotes, or did I miss something?
they do mention it in some readmes for the eval boards, and newer eval
boards dont have that connection at all.
