Yes I agree that Cygwin can be easier to use when porting
software from Linux to Windows.

I am not so sure if this is still the case. Last time the Open
Source Edition did not work with USB. You need the
other version.

I agree it is much easy to have access to a real Windows system.
I myself do not use Virtual Machine and use dual/triple-boot
Windows/Linux/(FreeBSD).
