As a side note to this thread, you may want to correlate packages
between different distro exploiting the DistroMatch project, ie. 
http://dde.debian.net/dde/q/distromatch/match/debian-sid/libmpfr-dev
or through one of its raw web-UI such as
http://dde.debian.net/distromatch-frontend.htm
