OS/X or Linux users who have problem with libusb may want to try the latest
libusb-stuge git which has a long of fix. This is libusb-1.0 and
libusb-compat-0.1
is on top of libusb-1.0. For OS/X users the old libusb-0.1 is known to be
problematic and not recommended to use it. It is better to use libusb-1.0
and libusb-compat-0.1 for OS/X users.

Peter Stuge is very slow in putting the fix in the main line git
and he is delaying the 1.0.9 release again and again.

A fork is possible but I am not so sure.
