You're right, after thinking about it a second time, this is a completely 
different situation, since there is no C instruction that will push 
something on stack.

No need to. When I wrote this, I was thinking into the wrong direction.

You're the MSPGCC expert here (obviously, as you're the one who writes it)
I only conclude from the symptoms to a possible cause. Too often,
that's the only data avilable: symptoms.
However, sometimes symptoms aren't related at all and lead to a wrong
conclusion.
