Wondering if things are any better on Server 2012?

I think I will try the BITS throttling to begin with and work from there.

We had the same experience. Extremely frustrating. WDS multicast does not seem
to be very robust, particularly with larger images.

It's 100% Cisco :). It did work it was just inconsistent. Image downloads
would bomb out, techs got tired of having to restart the image process.

It only works if your network gear supports it.

Tried that with 2007. That introduced a 15-20% image failure rate so we turned
it off.

What about multicast?

It could. My main concern from an operational standpoint is not slowing down
the imaging that we do every day. I'm looking to strike a balance so that we
don't cause network issues but that the same time don't degrade imaging. I
assume I could set BITS to 256,000Kbs to achieve a setting similar to what we
have now.

BITS wont help with that? Rate limiting?

I am looking for a little guidance on how to control network throttling in
SCCM2012. In our current SCCM 2007 setup, we have IIS throttled at 256Mbs (IIS
setting, not SCCM). This keeps the switch in the server rack from getting
hammered, and the other servers in the rack from suffering connectivity issues.
I know that anything that runs from a DP will bypass that of course, but just
about everything we deploy uses download end execute. Any insight is
appreciated, thanks.
