Keep in mind the native software catalog has its challenges and quirks. FYI- there are some great 3rd party apps as well 1E and Flexera to name a couple.....
From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Beardsley, James Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2013 3:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [mssms] CM12 - End-user perspective videos We're close to starting our CM12 migration and I'm looking to provide our help desk manager some info on the changes that will affect the end-user. In the past with CM07, we never taught the users how to use Run Advertised Programs and we always hid all pop-up notifications and installations so everything (if possible) was a silent install. Any software they request would have be initiated through the traditional way of contacting the help desk. With CM12, I'd like to change that so I'm making the case to management that we should take advantage of the more user friendly Software Center and the Application Catalog and put out instructions and offer training on the new way they can request software. Is anyone aware of any videos that provide a crash course of CM12 from the end user perspective that I could share with the help desk? I went through some of the new MMS videos and YouTube but I couldn't find exactly what I needed. Before I start putting together my own, I figured I'd ask the community. Or if there are any really well documented blogs/sites, that might be sufficient.
