I ripped out Altiris 2 weeks after 2012 went RTW. I've never looked back.
The amount of time Altiris requires to stay functioning is ridiculous. Not to mention that "upgrading" from one version to another, isn't upgrading. As in, you can't move a lot of stuff to the new version, without unsupported database hacking. Had me and an Altiris guy in the same room fielding questions. The desktop team was trying to "decide" what to use. Their manager an director was in the meeting. I mentioned on the plus points "you already own it and paid for it" The director asked the MS reps present if that was true and they said yes.
