Did you figure this out ?

I had the same issue at a customer site this week, but did not have the time to
troubleshoot.
MP & DP worked fine, but SUP scan referenced the intranet SUP server.

Not that I can find. I did a GPRESULT /V and it looks like anything dealing
with Updates is being configured via Local Policy.

Is there a GPO overriding the ConfigMgr Client SUP settings?

Thanks for the reply…

So the system appears to no be scanning for updates at all. I can send some
client logs if you like. The MP and DP work successfully through IBCM, however,
I do not see the machine scanning against the internet SUP at all. I still see
it referencing the internal SUP.

In CM12, a few things changed with client behavior and IBMC. Are your clients
getting updates at all? Are the clients getting updates downloaded from MS? Or,
are they never scanning against the external SUP and not getting any updates?

New in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, when you have a software
update point that is configured to accept connections from the Internet,
Configuration Manager Internet-based clients on the Internet always scan
against this software update point, to determine which software updates are
required. However, when these clients are on the Internet, they first try to
download the software updates from Microsoft Update, rather than from an
Internet-based distribution point. Only if this fails, will they then try to
download the required software updates from an Internet-based distribution
point. Clients that are not configured for Internet-based client management
never try to download the software updates from Microsoft Update, but always
use Configuration Manager distribution points.

Is anyone doing IBCM with ConfigMgr SP1?

If so, are you using an additional server to handle all of the internet
clients? I’m having some weird issues where I don’t see the SUP configuration
on the internet clients changing from the internal SUP FQDN to the external
internet FQDN.

Thanks,
