Shim the app, so it writes somewhere else?

<surprised voice> Seriously? </surprised voice>

Have you looked to see what the app is doing? (That actually needs admin
rights?)

Usually the app is trying to access a folder or reg key, which you can
just alter permissions on through gpo.

Running with different cred's isn't going to work, the app will not be
started under the logged-in users context.

Have the scheduled task run under credentials with admin rights and then
have a startup script that runs schtasks and triggers the task.

I was hoping to create a Windows scheduled task to open the program with
admin rights when a standard user logs on - but having no success.

How about have your advertisement trigger at logon?

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb694124.aspx

To assign the advertisement so that it runs after a specific event,
select the Assign immediately after this event option, and from the
drop-down list, select one of the following events:

*       As soon as possible
*       Logon
*       Logoff.

Hi,

I have a custom program that requires admin rights to run.

Has anyone created a scheduled task to open a program with admin rights
when a standard user logs on?

Thanks,

Tim
