Hello Eswar,
Thank you for help, I tried your batch file on 13 different stations ( Windows
Vista x86 ) using pstools:
PsExec.exe @comps.txt -c script.bat
comps.txt = contains the list of the workstations
and this is what I get:
Invalid parameter
Windows Management Instrumentation
Usage: winmgmt [/backup <filename>] [/restore <filename> <flag>]
[/resyncperf] [/standalonehost [<level>]] [/sharedhost]
[/verifyrepository [<path>]] [/salvagerepository]
[/resetrepository]
The Windows Management Instrumentation service is stopping.
The Windows Management Instrumentation service was stopped successfully.
The system cannot find the file ædir.
The system cannot find the file ædir.
The system cannot find the file ædir.
The requested service has already been started.
script.bat exited on CLIENTXX with error code 0.
Maybe it is better to use winmgmt /salvagerepository instead of
%windir%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /clearadap
%windir%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /kill
%windir%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /unregserver
%windir%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /regserver
%windir%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /resyncperf

You can try compiling the mof file if there Are any syntax errors.
I think you can get default one from configmgr source folder.. Haven't checked
if it is avilable in source or not. Give a try.
I use this script anytime if wmi errors
http://eskonr.com/2009/03/how-to-troubleshoot-the-systems-which-has-wmi-issues-rebuild-wmi-repository/
It is. Not always good to delete the repository and create new one since you
will lost all inventory from wmi.

Hi,
I check my configuration.mof path “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration
Manager\inboxes\clifiles.src\hinv”
I attach the file, but as far as I remember I never made any changes to it.
Also...in “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\data\hinvarchive” I
have other 4 bck files.
Is there a way to rebuild my configuration.mof ?
I`m in a critical situation right now, because I don`t have Hardware Inventory
Cycle on any of my clients :-(
Thanks.

Hello Andrew,
Well...to be honest with you, I had one, pointed to All System collection, only
with Hardware Inventory.. but I deleted.
Now I only have the Default one.

Do you have any custom client settings?

Betreff: [mssms] Hardware Inventory is missing
Hi,
I have some issues with Hardware Inventory cycle, is missing from all the
computers right now:
All the components are installed/enabled.
On the client, I check PolicyAgent.log, and I have these errors:
Failed to trigger policy evaluation for
CCM_Policy_Policy4.PolicyID="{a4521571-a763-4434-aa69-dcfe84b984f9}",PolicySource="SMS:S01",PolicyVersion="14.00"

failed to compile. State has been set to 'Error' and policy will be rolled
back.
So what I did was to disable and then re-enable “Hardware Inventory” and
“Software Inventory” from Default Settings.
I reinstall the client, no luck since.
Anyone have any ideas please ?
Thanks. Regards.
