Current DP is already 2012.

No MP, FSP or other site roles allowed. Not sure if this is the same as what you're doing. Removing the DP and then installing the secondary, leaving the contentlib in tact will reuse the contentlib though to my knowledge. This isn't technically supported, but I've heard it works.
