It was marked as superseded by an expired update, however when 2771431 was installed by hand 4 other updates became detected as needed. I reported it on the patchmanagement mailing list and Doug Neal from Microsoft confirmed this as an error with the expired, superseded update, 2821895. This condition isn’t a problem for any of Microsoft’s other patch management solutions, however SCCM is designed to immediately expire any superseded update and when SCCM does this you can’t get them back into the database, not even importing the update from the catalog. However starting with SCCM 2012 SP1 there is an option to not expire updates until a selected number of months have passed. So any update that ends up in this state will require a standard deployment package to be deployed. Attached is the whole thread I had with Doug if you’re interested. Get cm07 to download the patch into a package then see if the downloaded patch applies manually. If it is applicable it should go on. As for supercedence in cm07 you cannot deploy the superceded patch as you pointed out via software updates, but it could be deployed as a package if needs be.
