Don't forget about deployment templates. If these 8 deployments are going to be the same settings month to month, you could create a deployment template for each. Then it's just a couple clicks for each.
From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Miller, Todd Sent: Monday, November 18, 2013 1:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [mssms] Basic powershell Question I have a workflow where each month, after I create a SoftwareUpdateGroup for the month I have to create 8 deployments for that group with various different mandatory times and collections targeted. I think I would like to use powershell to do that. This will be my first powershell script - maybe I am biting off more than I should. Anyway, the first problem I am running into is that I can't tell what the difference is between start-CMSoftwareUpdateDeployment and set-CMSoftwareUpdateDeployment. Which cmdlet would I use to create a new deployment for an existing software update group? ________________________________ Notice: This UI Health Care e-mail (including attachments) is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. 2510-2521, is confidential and may be legally privileged.
