Thanks for the reply!  I changed the distribution failure threshold to 10
(it's failed far more than 10 times) but it doesn't seem to work, as when I
restart the PkgXferMgr thread, it starts transmitting again, despite this
being written in the log:

Attempted max retry count. The job would be marked for deletion now.
Deleting remote file XXXXXXXX.PCK (being the job ID in question)
Notifying pkgXferJobMgr
Failed to send status to the distribution manager for pkg XXXXXXXX, version
3, status 5 and distribution point ["Display=\\someserver.somedomain.com
\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=ABC"]\\someserver.somedomain.com\

Which sounds to me like it's trying to delete the job alright.  Not sure
about the "Failed to send status" message though...
