So  I'm not sure if you can even do that, that being said, there is an issue 
with SW inventory in general in that it can take days for the data to even show 
up, even when you force inventory.  There is a 240 minute delay on the server 
side and a randomization on the client side as well.  So even if you force a 
software inventory, it might not show up.

You should see the inventory data pass through MP_SINV.log, so once you see it 
there, you know CM got it from the client.

But again, it can take days, so not sure how recently you made the change and 
are expecting it to be picked up.

I believe I have the answer to question but just want verification.  I am 
trying to inventory certain file extensions on Mac systems but nothing is 
showing up in my queries.  The file extension is added to the Software 
Inventory settings and the client is communicating.  I found that software 
inventory on Macs is only a list of applications like add/remove programs.  Is 
this even possible?
