Just throwing this out there - have you considered using an alternate solution like 1E Nomad or Adaptive OneSite? Other customers have used these solutions with great success. Honestly, when you look at the big picture, you're better off using a product like that instead of Branch Distribution Points. These tools provide more flexibility and automation with respect to content management, which saves you more time over managing BDPs. By the way: in ConfigMgr 2012, you can install a full Distribution Point (sans PXE and I believe multicast) on a client operating system. :) Just throwing that out there. Any content on the DPs needs to be pre-staged. What is the best option to accomplish this? Or what have you done in a similar scenario? I know there are probably multiple options such as deploying a base Windows image to the DPs and then distributing content while they are at the main site.
