I'm asking if it is feasible to directly install the universal print drivers
executable on my base images.
Seems like it would accomplish the same thing.

I have 1400 printers from (9) different manufacturers and am in a time crunch.
Some of the universal print drivers are easy to extract and create driver
package but others are more difficult and seem to be designed more for manual
execution than mass deployment.

Just looking for a shortcut as I also have many custom images to deal with.

Not entirely sure what you are asking? It's very easy to preload the drivers
using a driver package in the Task Sequence. That's been recommended and tested
by several people on here.

Hi,

Follow-up question.

Since the manufacturers tell you to unplug printers before installing universal
print drivers, you are preloading drivers same as in a task sequence.

Seems logical that you could also install the drivers on an image to preload
them into Windows driver store for availability when printer is plugged in
after image deployment.

Has anyone tried this before?

Thanks,
Tim
