I am having similar funniness. I have both %programfiles% and %programfiles(x86) as paths for *.exe on separate entries.
I first thought I was having a client side SINV issue but I disproved that yesterday. I am trying to verify a deployment based on an .exe and I am showing 2000 missing or so by file inventory but the large majority of the machines I check are upgraded. SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 Ivan Lindenfeld From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lutz, Ken Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2014 12:54 PM To: 'SMS List' Subject: [mssms] Software inventory counts off I am trying to get the version info for a particular file installed on a lot of my workstations. I have the following set up to be inventoried via Software Inventory: [cid:[email protected]] When I run a SQL query against the v_GS_Installed_Software view for the product name I get a count of 628 machines. (This is the correct count.) When I then run a SQL query against the v_GS_SoftwareFile view to get the file version the count is only 185. Why are the counts different? Do I need to inventory for the specific file in this case? For reference I have attached the two queries. Thanks!
