Method #3 requires the least thought about the scenario and the fewest tweaks; you always let Windows decide what drive letter to assign to the OS partition, and Windows always picks C:. I have a scripted version of the registry edits available through Keith's blog here: http://keithga.wordpress.com/2013/09/17/osdpreservedriveletter/ That makes method #3 really simple to implement, just add one simple step to your task sequence.
