When I responded I miss understood. I thought you meant the update was perma killing lync. Yes that happens in our environment also. You could install the lync 2010 update with a script wrapper and then have the script start lync again? I don't think a reboot is required for the lync updates (haven't checked for this one though).

So here we distribute the update as a software deployment with notification etc. and release a heads-up communications to the users ahead of time explaining what happens. Regards, Gregory L. However, Lync 2013 patches install normally, swapping out in-use files during the reboot. *shrug* From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Johns, Damon (DoJ) Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 6:52 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: [mssms] RE: This months Lync 2010 patches Haven’t seen anything here in my environment yet – if we do I will post From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Greg DeGuire Sent: Thursday, 12 June 2014 2:12 AM To: '[email protected]' Subject: [mssms] This months Lync 2010 patches Anyone noticing that it kills Lync 2010? It’s not applying the replaced files during reboot as it does for all other patches? Incidentally, the Lync 2013 patch this month works normally – does not kill 2013. Anyone else seeing this behavior? ________________________________ CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE AND DISCLAIMER The information in this transmission may be confidential and/or protected by legal professional privilege, and is intended only for the person or persons to whom it is addressed.
