Have you tried updating from SP1 to R2, then update to CU1?

Subject: [mssms] SCCM 2012 Client upgrade

Hello,

We are using SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 in our environment, but I've just noticed that
some of our machines are still running the 2012 SP1 client (5.00.7804.1000).
I've tried to run the R2 CU1 client upgrade on some of them, but since they do
not have R2 installed, the update fails.

The only solution that I've found so far is to completely uninstall the current
client and install the R2 client and then apply the CU1 update, which is not
ideal.

Is there a way I could upgrade the SCCM client from SP1 (5.00.7804.1000) to R2
CU1 (5.00.7958.1203) directly?

Thank you,

Jonathan
