Many thanks for the replies.

So yes now I’ve had a break and come back to this I can now see the details of
the machines connecting in through each provider (yes Andrew each Provider has
it’s own log ;-)

Yes am aware that this isn’t load balancing per se and I can’t direct
connections to specific Providers but that’s fine – goal here is to try to
minimse the impact of going through one Provide.

David - I’ve looked for the Reg key you mention and can’t find anything that
states which Provider the workstation is using, only the Server the Console is
connected to.

So looks like there’s no way of centrally being able to see who is connecting
in through each Provider.

Off to WMI to see if the Provider is stored in there ;-)

Kind regards,

Cliff

I am pretty sure the smsprov log is unique to the smsprov server, so if you
have a provider on another box and the console is connected to that box then
entries appear in that smsprov.log and not on the other…

The regkey that david mentioned is a far better way to find it out.

Also, you know that the console-provider connections are non-deterministic? You
can’t point consoles at specific sms providers, in a load balancing sense. But
if you have a web service you can isolate the provider it uses.

Late in the day here, I am packing up to go home so excuse any stupidity or
typos please…

There's akey under HKCU telling you which provider it uses. Already midnight
here, so not at my lab, but you should be able to find it there...

Hi Sherry,

I’ve been pouring over that as I’d expect it to say in there somewhere that
Machine A is using Provider X but I’m damned if I can see anything even
remotely like this, although feels like I can’t see the wood for the trees at
times :(

I'm guessing one way to see that is to read smsprov.log

Hi all,

in an environment with multiple SMS Providers I know that CM chooses the
Provider at the time you start for example the Console.

Does anyone know of an easy way to see:

1. Which SMS Provider a machine is connecting to?

2. How many machines are connected to each instance of the SMS Provider?

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Cliff
