Well, In my particular case.. I’m kind of hoping for that.. I have several
of the same make/model laptops, and my hope was to get a single “reference”
image made for them, so I can copy to the rest of them, hopefully speeding up
deployment. Then if I need to re-image one.. I Have a starting point. The
theory was to get one setup with the required software, and up to the current
patch level.. but I’m also rather new to imaging and OS deploying options, so
if I’m barking up the wrong tree, feel free to point out errors in my plans! ☺

I would also add that you need to use a VM to build your reference image. Think
about all the drivers that are baked into your image because you are using
physical hardware.

Make sure your boot image you selected has been distributed to a DP.

Subject: [mssms] Distribution point questin

Hello, I am trying to get a OS setup captured from a reference laptop I setup,
and was attempting to do a task sequence to capture the media

When I get to the part for selecting the Distribution point, I have no options
available to choose, so I’m assuming I’ve missed something the SCCM setup for
the distribution points (I only have 1 distribution point to choose), and it is
working fine with all the other items I’m pushing out.

Anyone want to show me what I may have missed?
