Thanks Paul. So Ok, that bit makes sense. Yes we do the extra streaming bit when sequencing the apps, so that's already setup as such.
So the question is, how do I deploy the appv file in Sccm to ensure this is how it works? What options would need to be set? Check the options here http://blogs.technet.com/b/virtualworld/archive/2013/02/27/app-v-5-0-sequencer-package-streaming-optimisation.aspx. If you set for fault streaming you will get a minimum of files required to launch the application downloaded to the cache. Once launched the application load into the cache. If you set to download the full package then you don't have any control on what is placed in the cache prior to application launch as the full app will download. The former approach (fault streaming) will satisfy your requirements. But the main issue I can’t figure out if possible is AppV5. Obviously it can be integrated into 2012.. But I need it to work in the same way it currently does here. For instance.. Virtual Appv app gets published to user 1. User 1 logs in, sees the shortcut in the start menu and clicks on it. The program then streams down to the client and caches. It’s that start menu bit I can’t figure with it in SCCM. Is it possible? To deploy the app to the user, then it not do anything until they select it in the start menu? At the moment all I can make it do is either be available to the user so they have to open Software Center\App Catalogue.. Or a required install which automatically downloads it to the client. – Also just setting Stream Content from DP doesn't fit the bill here, as I still need it to cache locally after. Please help! ☺ Thankyou Rich
