Task sequences always run as the local System.
Have you reviewed smsts.log in detail? Not just looking at the end of a successful completion. Have you reviewed execmgr.log? I have noticed a strange issue with in SCCM. I have created a simple custom task sequence and added few (2-5..even tested by adding a single app) fully working and test Software (simple packages). And I have distributed them and deployed with Task Sequence to few computers. And my test users (all of them) are able to see in Software Center and they are able to open and install by them self, However When I login with my ID to their Desktops and I can see in Software center the assigned Task sequence name... However when I ran it will simply exiting as it ran successful....as per execmgr and smsts.log it success. But in reality it was not even executed the app's installation commands.; What I have done is I have tested on randomly 10-20 systems it is the same case for my ID. However it is working for the End users. Is this something related to permissions? If so for running software center at end user computer do we need any special permission for End users on desktops? That's the first thing I would do. It's so easy to blame the TS or Configmgr mechanisms when the actual issue could lie with your actual install. Are you using the "Install Package" step and using it to install multiple packages? If so, do you have the option to continue should any single package fail enabled? Even if an application install fails, the TS would continue on and not fail. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] On Behalf Of Hun boy Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2014 10:27 AM To: Sms Subject: [mssms] 2012 sp1 aw distribution success but not really Very strange issue am running...
