It also says "When the deadline is reached". If that box is checked it will not install updates outside the maintenance window until the deadline has past. I have that checked for clients but not servers. Usually make the updates available the evening I setup the deployment but set the deadline for the weekend. The clients don't install them outside of the window until after the deadline. If a user has their computer shut off after the deadline and during the maintenance window they will get updates installed as soon as the computer comes online.
