I'd say DON't do it if it isn't absolutely required.

it's just creating a lot of extra dependencies and other issues.
SCCM will treat that database instance as its own. IT will gladly restart the 
instance during SCCM patching for example and you will need an SA account to do 
the patching (personal experience)

Therefore I don't recommend it and if you havr to make sure the DB admins know 
about how SCCM will treat the DB server

We are setting up a new site with ConfigMan CB.  Management wants to host the 
database on our SQL cluster.  Does anyone know if using a CNAME is supported in 
the setup wizard when it prompts for database information?  Are there any 
"gotchas" we should look out for in this kind of setup (SQL cluster)?
