Hmmmm depends what a ‘Sound’ is…. Is it the pressure and displacement waves in the air… or is ‘Sound’ what we interpret what these waves as ?…

Size your Maintenance Windows appropriately and specify for Installs/Restarts to ONLY happen during MWs. [cid:[email protected]] If so then yes this setting does apply to it as well, but just ensure that you have Client settings deployed to servers that have settings that are tailored to server ☺ and a different one for workstations. ________________________________ Magnus Tveten From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] On Behalf Of Heaton, Joseph@Wildlife Sent: Thursday, 15 June 2017 7:28 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: [mssms] RE: Auto reboots of servers during patching But isn’t that reboot based on client settings, like for desktops? If the server has a maintenance window and an updates deployment advertised to it (and is correctly configured to allow the reboot during MWs) then when it’s done installing updates it will just reboot. I patch 500 servers this way every month. In past questions, I’ve related that currently I manually reboot all of my 200+ servers. We’re revamping how we’re doing the server patching, with a couple of maintenance windows, and auto reboots. However, I’m not sure the “best” method of doing the reboot. Do I just change the client settings to reboot in a couple of minutes, or do I add a shutdown –r to the package, or some other method?
