Hmmmm depends what a ‘Sound’ is….
Is it the pressure and displacement waves in the air… or is ‘Sound’ what we
interpret what these waves as ?…

I still claim it makes a sound....

Aren't the 'countdown settings' only in effect if someone is logged in,
otherwise it reboots right away?

Size your Maintenance Windows appropriately and specify for Installs/Restarts
to ONLY happen during MWs.

Do you mean the Countdown setting ?
[cid:[email protected]]
If so then yes this setting does apply to it as well, but just ensure that you
have Client settings deployed to servers that have settings that are tailored
to server ☺ and a different one for workstations.

Nothing to add to anything. If the server has a maintenance window and an
updates deployment advertised to it (and is correctly configured to allow the
reboot during MWs) then when it’s done installing updates it will just reboot.
I patch 500 servers this way every month.

How do you handle this? In past questions, I’ve related that currently I
manually reboot all of my 200+ servers. We’re revamping how we’re doing the
server patching, with a couple of maintenance windows, and auto reboots.
However, I’m not sure the “best” method of doing the reboot. Do I just change
the client settings to reboot in a couple of minutes, or do I add a shutdown –r
to the package, or some other method?

Thanks,
