I miss the wavy logo. :-) (for those that don't know, Ehsan actually did the logo that is live in place now)
I got a lot of feedback on it, all positive. I've been on the phone with people when they first go to the site and when they see the logo they all say "wow, that's a nice logo". I like the new design very much. I'm not much on design myself, but Ehsan has quite an eye. And for those that don't know, the reason it's being wrote in php and mysql is because that's what my hosting server runs. I own a hosting company and it's past time to move the site off of my (old) NT 4.0 Enterprise Edition server onto my hosting server (linux/apache based). Ehsan made a new template for the ISAPI version of the site a long time ago and I just haven't had the time to implement it, so when I started the hosting company I asked him if he'd like to move it to php/mysql and he graciously accepted. Ehsan is also a hosting reseller on my hosting server (want to do it yourself and make some money? I'll bend over backwards to help you get started - just ask Ehsan). Ehsan and I are also involved in a couple other Internet-related ventures, so He and I already work together making this BeginThread.com rewrite a good fit for him. > What I need greatly is feedback on the site, that is, on its visual design, > logical design, requested features, comments, corrections, and suggestions. > Please take some time to view the site, and let me know if you have anything > you feel you should say. It's your comments which can help me improve the > site. Yes, Ehsan's voicing the same feeling BeginThread.com was started on. It is a site by and for programmers. Although it doesn't compete with sites like codeproject, with enough group participation it certainly could. Anyone who wants to get involved and do something to improve the site (and have your name stamped on whatever you do), by all means the door is wide open.
