A few days ago, this started happening on one NT4 server (SP5): the backup starts at the correct hour, but after a while dr. watson shows up saying that ntbackup will be closed.
i checked the backup's log and i see that it stops after backing up several drives (with no problems). sometimes it stops and can't even write the whole name of the folder that's being backed up. i compared two backup logs from different days and i see that it doesn't stop at the same place (folder or file). so the problem isn't with the folder/file, right? different tapes are being used, but it still has the same problem. so the problem isn't with the tape(s), right? when i look at the event viewer, i can see one entry for ntbackup saying that the backup has started, but after less than a minute i get this error: source: perflib event: 1011 description: The library file "infoctrs.DLL" specified for the "InetInfo" service could not be opened. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code is data DWORD 0. i think this could be related (although i can't understand why)... what do you think? i know one of the first things you'll say is "aplly SP6a" (it will be done in a short time), but i wanted to check with you if the cause for this strange behaviour could be something else (or have a different solution). thanks to all ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
